Dear Friends and Family,Thanks! We Praise God for all that He is doing through your prayers. We have been praying for a new location and God has provided a response quickly. In February president David Little from Baptist Church Planters spoke at a Spanish Pastors Conference here in Phoenix. The Lord used him to help us secure a new location. That will enable the church plant where we are working to jump forward and into effectively ministering in the Spanish and English community. We are merging with a Baptist Church that has a building but lacks people and leadership. We have people and leadership, but no building. On Sunday March 28th, two small congregations voted to merge together and become Faith Baptist Church with services in English and Spanish. We are excited to be a part of this progress. It is both exciting and overwhelming. Please pray for a smooth transition and that we may be able to develop a solid infrastructure that would benefit future ministry of the church. We believe this church could be used by God to play a pivotal role in establishing multi-cultural churches in Phoenix.Wayne is involved as a chaplain for Spring Training Baseball for players and coaches in English and Spanish. He has had 35 in the English Services and 20 in the Spanish services. He is freely given the privilege to share the Gospel and teach the Bible. Please pray that people would give their lives to Christ those that already have a personal relationship would grow spiritually. Wayne had the opportunity to return to Elyria, OH and receive more training and resources from Baptist Church Planters. A generous donor provided airfare for him and two other pastors from Phoenix. They were blessed and encouraged through the meetings. Wayne was also able to visit some friends from the Elyria area where there sending church, First Baptist is located.Shanna is busy with homeschooling, directing music in the church, childrens programs, and teaching a ladies bi-lingual SS Class. She also may soon start tutoring some players in English. She recently had her sister and family in town from Michigan and their children enjoyed spending time together. Rylee, Gloria and Claire are healthy and continue to be a blessing to both our family and those in the church. It is a privilege to be their parents and we pray that we will be godly and responsible in their spiritual upbringing. They are a constant source of joy and blessing. PrayerWisdom and Transitional process of the new Faith Baptist ChurchBalance of time between ministries and familyFinancial support to increaseSafety as we travel to other churchesClaire's finger to heal (it was closed in a sliding patio door by her sister)Salvation of our neighborsHave a Great day celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus, and remembering His death for us.In Christ,Wayne, Shanna, Rylee, Gloria, and Claire Daleserving with BCP in Phoenix, AZwww.daleministries.com

Psalm 86:10 – “For thou are great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone”Dear Friends and Family,It is our privilege to write to you and tell you all that has been taking place here in Phoenix.Although it has only been a short time since our last letter much has taken place. We have been recipientsof Showers of blessings. Wayne’s parents drove out from New York State and stayed a few days untilRylee’s birthday and then began the arduous trip back east. They were able to visit the Spanish church andenjoy cross-cultural fellowship. The children enjoyed seeing their grandparents and were excited to receivesome homemade gifts.Speaking of Grandparents, we have had the blessing of Shanna’s parents being part of the ministry with us. Shanna’s dad and mom have participated in ministry through teaching children, heading up a work day, and serving and loving people. No matter what age you are at you must never underestimate your impact for God. Shanna’s mom had a spiritual conversation with Gloria, our four year old. Gloria made mention that she had trusted Jesus as her personal Savior after Sunday School with her grandparents teaching. Shanna spoke to her later about it and then Wayne spoke to her on another occasion. She reiterated the fact that she had placed her faith in Jesus and that she understood forgiveness. I (Wayne) have always been cautious of young professions, but I cannot deny that she understands her position before God. So we rejoice in the grace of God toward our daughter and pray that she grows in the knowledge of truth. We thank God for the spiritual influence of her grandparents. We also received showers of rain and our development became flooded like the streets of Venice, Italy. At one point there was so much flooding around our development Wayne almost was not able to enter because of the closed roads and blocked streets. Usually in AZ you pass bridges that have no water under them. We received a years worth of rain in just a few days. There are currently three BCP missionaries in the Phoenix area. Two of them joined this past fall. They are excellent men and God will use them and their families greatly. President David Little and Dave Whipple from Baptist Church Planters were able to visit the works here and add input to plans for strategizing ministry here in the Valley They hosted a day long seminar with some of the Spanish pastors from the Phoenix area. They also hosted a luncheon with some of the English speaking pastors of the area. They were able to see firsthand the needs here.We praise the Lord for how God is blessing the Spanish work. We are grateful for serving with the Marquez family and seeing how God is using them. There were 5 baptisms in the church and one was a woman who was in her 70’s. The church also received a grant of 80K and now we are looking for a permanent place to meet. The current location consists of a small open building with a kitchen and bathrooms. There are no classrooms and they end up meeting outdoors. The owners of the building are selling the property so we are praying that God will open up a space that will better suit the needs of the church.Praise the Lord that we have received two new financial supporters. We also have a few meetings lined up for next month. Please pray that God would continue to impress upon families and churches to partner with us. We love you and thank God for each one of you. Your faithfulness is a testimony of God working through you.Love in Christ,Wayne, Shanna, Rylee, Gloria and Claire

Dear Friends and Family,We have had a blessed Christmas season. We are grateful for your generosity to us and thankful for your investment here in the ministry. Thank you to everyone who sent us cards and Christmas gifts. Each gift was a blessing! We had a wall to display all the Christmas cards and photos and another wall dedicated to the children’s birthday cards. Thank you to all who remembered them. We had some great Christmas programs at Oasis. Shanna and her mom led the younger children in their first Christmas program. Shanna also played and directed for the Choir. There was a full house at the Spanish Church for the "Christmas Dinner." Beginning this New Year our primary ministry has become the Spanish Church Plant. We will continue to assist in some ministries at Oasis during this transition year. Please continue to pray for the leadership and growth of Oasis Baptist, for their future, and as they search for a permanent location."Vida en Cristo," or Life in Christ Baptist Church is a small group that has been renting its own facility for about 1 year and a half. We will be working with Alberto and Adela Marquez who attended BCP candidate school this year. They are a great couple that will be able to teach us much about Mexican culture and language. We in turn will be helping them with structure and organization as the church plant progresses. Please pray for this group as they were unable to be financed for a loan. The present meeting location is being put on the market. However, God has opened up a property a block down the road that could be converted into meeting space and eventually used as a property for a permanent building. Wayne is investigating city ordinances and codes regarding the requirements for meeting there. Our children were definitely affected by the transition as they are unable to sing some of the songs and were missing their other S.S. classes. Children are adaptable and they know most of the kids. Many of the adults are bi-lingual and able to communicate with them.. They seem to be able to charm people in any language. We are privileged to have Shanna's parents attending the Spanish church with us as well. They will be an encouragement and a blessing to the people. They cannot speak Spanish, but their love is conveyed through their actions. We look forward to what the Lord has for us this year. Wayne had been working part-time to cover health insurance and supplement our support level. They like his work but it often required working four days a week. In a step of faith Wayne will go PRN in February. That means no steady income or discounted health insurance. We believe God's timing is right and we need to take this step of faith. The needs of ministry necessitates that we place that as our sole focus. We believe God will provide and we will be able to glorify Him through the process. God has provided reasonable health insurance and we are going to focus our time on increasing our support level and visiting more pastors and churches. We could not have made it this far without the faithful financial support of partnering churches and individuals. Please pray for us as we seek to honor God with our lives, lead people to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, and become more proficient in Spanish and the memorization of His word in Spanish. We love you and wish God's best for your lives,Wayne, Shanna, Rylee, Gloria and Claire

Dear Family and Friends, We have so much to give thanks unto the Lord! This past month has been full of many activities and time spent with others encouraging them in the work of the Lord. In the past month we have had the opportunity to use our home to host people from a supporting church, entertain a plethora of families and individuals, teenagers, and occasional neighbors and or their children. After looking back we hosted 3 per week. We might be a little more reserved this month. We had the privilege of spending Thanksgiving here with Shanna’s parents, another missionary couple, and one of Wayne’s unsaved co-workers from the Surgery Center. We thank God that He provided the means to rebuild the transmission in our van and it was done at half the price we were first quoted. We praise the Lord for providing this answer to prayer, and we are thankful for all of you who were faithful to pray with us regarding this need. Earlier in the month we were able to attend the Arizona Association of Regular Baptist Churches (AARBC) meeting in Glendale. The focus was on evangelism and reaching out to our neighbors, specifically our Hispanic neighbors. Wayne has been busy working as the liason for the Spanish church to the bank in helping them acquire a loan, and to the real estate agent. Please pray as they have been given the opportunity to purchase a permanent meeting place. May God direct and give wisdom through the process. Shanna has been busy training a teacher to take her S.S. class, playing piano for the adult Christmas program, and working with her mom to direct a short Christmas program for the children age pre-school to Second Grade. Please continue to pray for us as we prepare to transition to the Spanish church this coming new year. We will continue to be involved in both churches throughout this next year. Pray for Oasis Baptist as they will be moving toward new leadership, seeking a larger place to meet, discipling people, and implementing new programs. Thank you for praying for us and the ministries here in Phoenix. We are called by God, but serve because of your support. Thanks to all our financial supporters because you have given when it has not been easy. We pray God rewards you for your faithfulness. Also thanks to each of you who gave special Christmas offerings and gifts. Please know that we count each of you as one of these special blessings from His hand. We also praise Him for the many answers to prayers that we were able to share with you in this prayer letter. Thank you so much for your continued prayers, love and support. Have a Merrry CHRISTmas!Serving in Phoenix, AZWayne, Shanna, Rylee, Gloria, & Claire Dale

Dear Friends and Family,The events of this past week and month have reminded us of how fragile life is and how quickly it can be taken from us. It also is a continual incentive to share the message of life and hope that can only be ours through Jesus Christ, our Lord. We are so thankful for the privilege that God has saved us and uses us to serve Him here in Phoenix, AZ. This all became very personal to us about two weeks ago when Wayne received the news that one of his best friends from college had died following a delicate surgery. He was also the best man for Wayne at our wedding 10 years ago. Wayne immediately made arrangements to fly to New Jersey for the funeral and to be an encouragement and a support to the family. It was a whirlwind trip, and we praise the Lord for providing for it and for keeping him safe in all the many hours of traveling. He also had several opportunities to tell those who were seated beside him, the truth about Jesus and their respective need for Him. We also praise the Lord for the safety He gave us while we were traveling to Santa Maria, CA. We had been invited there by Pastor McClain to share with the church about the ministry here in Phoenix. We had a wonderful time there and hope we were as much of a blessing to them as they were to us. About 3 hours into our trip, something started malfunctioning with the van's transmission. With much prayer and careful driving, we were able to complete the trip safely, but we are now in need of a rebuilt transmission for our van. This month has also been full of various opportunities to reach out to our friends and neighbors. Oasis hosted a drama group from Bob Jones University and then hosted a Fall Festival the following weekend to encourage people to invite friends and neighbors to get to know the people of the church. Our family, with the help of Shanna's parents, also held a neighborhood outreach - "pumpkins for Jesus " park party on Friday Oct. 30th. We had 3 neighborhood families attend and were able to meet the parents and children. It was also a good opportunity to model an outreach for some of the church families from Oasis who came as well. We also used this format for the children's program at the Spanish pastor's meeting on Saturday afternoon; and again on Saturday evening at the children's song practice for Oasis. It was an encouragement to see the children passing out their tracts and understanding the idea of being a light in their own neighborhoods. This past weekend, we also participated in the Surprise Swap Meet. It is a Community event that encourages people to bring their "unwanted treasures." People from the Oasis Baptist church donated items to sell and then volunteered to run the booth and talk to people about the church and about salvation. Everyone who bought something received a church business card and a gospel tract. It was a good opportunity for the church to be active and visible in the community, and it was exciting to see the people getting involved in different ways. We were able to make some positive contacts and build bridges with the community. Please be in prayer for the spanish church, Vida en Cristo. They are in the process of trying to buy the property where they are currently meeting. The landlords are preparing to sell the property and are providing the church with the opportunity to buy it before it officially goes on the market. The problem is that since the church is only about 18 months old, it does not qualify for conventional bank loans. There are several grant and loan opportunities that they are pursuing, but time is of the essence here. Please pray that God would open doors and provide for this new, baby church. The children are continuing to grow and thrive. Rylee's soccer team won their last game of the season, and Rylee scored the winning goal. Gloria has been manifesting an increased interest in arsty things. She loves to draw and has been practicing the piano regularly. Claire has been fighting the cold & flu bug that is going around, but she is still cheerful and frequently says, "I a happy girl!" As Thanksgiving approaches we have much to be thankful for, not the least of which is for each one of you who so faithfully prays and gives and supports the work of the Lord here in Phoenix, AZ. May God continue to bless you as you serve Him in your own churches and neighborhoods where He has placed you. We thank our God upon every remembrance of you all...Sincerely,Wayne, Shanna, Rylee, Gloria, and Claire Dale

Dear Friends and Family,We thank God for you and for every remembrance we have of each of you. You each represent God's hand of encouragement upon us as a family, and upon the ministry in which He has placed us. We recently celebrated our 10th anniversary and it was a powerful reminder of God's abundant grace to us throughout the short time period we have been together. God has blessed us immeasurably. The past few months have been an exciting time. We have watched God answer prayer through providing a house for Shanna's parents to move into close to us. It was a faith building process for our children as they were able to pray and witness God working throughout the whole process. It continues to be a faith building process for Shanna's parents. The house in Ohio is now in the process of being purchased. God is increasing their faith through the whole transition and I believe they will be able to Praise the Lord mightily in their "Mature" years.Dr. Dave Little, the president of our mission agency, was able to come out to speak at a Hispanic Pastors conference in September. He was able to share with some of the men the mission and vision of Baptist Church Planters and the resources that are available. It was a great encouragement to them. Baptist Church Planters recently conducted classes for church planters and two friends who are Pastors/church planters from the Phoenix area were able to attend. These are quality men that will be used by God to help start churches here in the Phoenix Valley. In the coming new year we will be partnering with one of the individuals and his family. His name is Alberto Marquez and he and his family have a Spanish work in the downtown Phoenix area. We have been helping there on a limited basis throughout the past year. Wayne has preached there several times while Pastor Marquez was out of town, and we have attended special functions as we have been able. After speaking with our sending pastor and the president of our mission agency, we believe God is calling us to enter into the next stage of ministry. We will be involved in a Spanish Church as our primary focus and our responsibilities at the English church plant will slowly taper off. This transition will permit us to become more effective in Spanish ministry, help strengthen present Spanish ministries, and plan for future Spanish ministries here in Phoenix. We also want to communicate to others some of the progress that is taking place among the Hispanic churches here in the Phoenix area. Many do not understand that Hispanics have lived here for many generations. They constitute a large part of the population here and are not all illegal aliens. We also look forward to groups and individuals coming to visit and partaking in Spanish ministry here in the United States. Although you may not be able to speak the language, there are many ways in which you can serve and be a part of this ministry. We are grateful to see how our God has blessed the church where we have been serving for the past 2 years, and now has brought others who are capable of furthering the work. We have really seen much growth in this past year. As we started up our fall childrens' programs we are quickly running out of room. The Pee Wee Patch group (which Shanna leads) has increased in size by at least 5 children and the older kids group has grown as well. The teens have been showing an increased desire to actually learn more about the Word of God and not just be entertained during youth group times. Several new families have been attending and several have also recently joined as members. The attendance on Sunday mornings has been pretty consistently around 100 for the last month or so. We praise the Lord for all the ways we see Him blessing the ministry here in Surprise, AZ. We are also very grateful for the privilege of serving with Jeff Benner at Oasis Baptist Church, and ask for your prayers during the transition process. With the advent of slightly cooler weather many of the community sports have begun. Wayne wanted to have more opportunities to meet people and joined an adult volleyball league which plays on Thursday nights. He and Rylee have also joined the City of Surprise Soccer league for 5 & 6 yr olds. Rylee plays and Wayne coaches. They have practices on Thursday nights as well and games on Saturday mornings. It has been a good opportunity to meet new families with children the same ages as ours and to teach some good sportsmanship to Rylee. In early September Rylee and Shanna also began their homeschooling adventure. Rylee is doing fabulous. We have only been homeschooling about 6 weeks, but he has completed at least 9 weeks worth of work. He is reading everything in sight and it is a joy to watch his enthusiasm for learning. Gloria is also excited about "school time" she is now working in some kindergarten level workbooks unofficially and has started learning how to write her letters. She continues to charm everyone she meets and you can almost always find her by following the sound of singing or humming. Claire is our little cheerleader. There is absolutely nothing like walking in the door and hearing her yell , "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy" and run and give you a big hug. The whole world is a continual wonder to her and her excitement and joy for life is contagious. We praise the Lord for the tremendous gifts of our children. We recently invited over one of Wayne's unsaved co-workers for supper and he was touched by the children remembering to pray for him at the meal time prayer. He later remarked that we have the nicest children he's ever met. We certainly know they have their faults and moments, but we are humbled and grateful to see God working through them to bring Him honor and glory. May that be the desire of all of our hearts. As we close this lengthy update, please be in prayer for the following needs: 1. This weekend we will be travelling to Santa Monica, CA to present the need for church planting here in Phoenix. 2. The upcoming transition from Oasis Baptist to "Vida en Cristo", it may be most difficult for our children to adjust. Thank you so much for your prayers. We are truly dependent on them. Your church planters in Phoenix,Wayne, Shanna, Rylee, Gloria, and Claire Dale

Dear Friends and Family,The past month has been a blur of activity. We participated in a Polar themed Vacation Bible School (very apropos for the desert). We had a high of 69 not including 35 workers, and a constituency of 88 children. On the closing evening we had about 90 including many parents. I was able to share a simple gospel message from John 3:16 about extreme love, trust, forgiveness, obedience, and Joy. We finished the night with snow cones and those who brought visitors were treated to ice cream from our neighbors who run the ice cream truck. The highlight for the week was that we saw 5 decisions for Christ to receive the gift of eternal life. Although it was a busy week it was very satisfying and rewarding to hear comments from other workers, children and their parents. This was also the first year that Oasis has held a VBS using only the members of the church. So, it was a real blessing to see the church members stepping forward and using their gifts to reach out in this way. Oasis Baptist has been recording over 100 in the Sunday Services for the past few weeks. We have added a Sunday School class, and are quickly filling the classrooms that we currently use. God has brought some individuals that are spiritually mature enough to help immediately serve in the ministry. Please pray for the leadership of the church as it continues to develop. We also hosted 6 from a Youth missions group from Trinity Baptist of Concord, New Hampshire. They were part of a team of 20 that held a Vacation Bible School in the Spanish Church where we sometimes help. They had over 40 from the neighborhood attend and it was an opportunity to make contacts with many of the mothers that attended. It was also an encouragement for the people of the church who have never had an opportunity to be involved in a Vacation Bible School. We had a fellowship of Spanish pastors and are getting familiar with some of their families and ministries in the Valley. They desire to meet quarterly to have workshops, preaching, and include the whole family. The Hispanic pastor/church planter who helps organize these meetings will be attending candidate school with Baptist Church Planters in the end of September. This is a big step as it will provide both accountability, and resources as he becomes part of a church planting organization. The children are growing and are such a blessing to us. Rylee's heart is so tender toward spiritual things, and it is a privilege to be able to nurture that in him as his parents. He is also getting pretty excited about starting homeschooling. He has already finished reading 2 of his first grade reading books. Gloria is blooming into a little artist. She loves to have paper and pencils / crayons and drawing pictures. One of her favorite subjects to draw is her family. She also entertains us all in the car with singing all the new songs she has learned this summer at BCP family camp, and the 2 VBS that the children attended. Little Claire is still coming into her own. We are trying to use more spanish in the house now that her language skills are increasing. It is really cute to say "thank you" to her and hear her respond with "de nada" (You're welcome in spanish). She is still definitely the baby as she still tries to carry a blankie around with her and she still sucks her thumb. All the kids were so excited that 4 of their neighborhood friends were able to come to VBS with them this year, and we are hoping to befriend many more this coming year. We have wanted to have more opportunity to meet people in the community in order to share Christ with them. We are involved in community sport night twice a week for eight weeks. I volunteered to coach a soccer team and participate with a volleyball team. Please pray that these would lead to spiritual decisions. Thank you for your commitment to this ministry,Wayne, Shanna, Rylee, Gloria, and Claire Dale Ephesians 3:19-21

Dear Friends and Family,Summer has arrived full force here in Arizona. Once the temps reach 110 consistently, people tend to stay either in buildings or in their homes. In a sense, it becomes like wintertime here except that you do not have to shovel snow or dress in layers. Temperatures are still extreme and you have to keep hydrated and out of the sun. Any break in the heat is a welcome relief. We were given such relief by going to Iowa for a week to attend Family Camp. It is a time of both refreshment and invigoration for the missionaries of Baptist Church Planters that is held every three years in Ankeny, IA. We were able to hear Biblical preaching from Dr. John Hartog II, and hear reports from both the staff and missionaries. It was also a time to visit friends and supporters from that area. Some people from a supporting church lined up a vehicle and car seats for us to use while we were there. That was a tremendous help as we made many visits. The temps dipped to the 60's so it was much milder than Arizona. We were able to fit a few dozen ears of Iowa sweet corn into our carry on luggage and bring them back to Arizona to share with some people who were kind enough to give us rides to and from the airport. It was good to be back and see how things are progressing at Oasis Baptist. Last month I preached through Philemon about Genuine Christian love. It is always a privilege to divulge Biblical truths. The church continues to grow numerically. We continue to have visitors and have families return as well. The church is preparing for Vacation Bible School. One of the blessings we are able to witness is to see people who have not participated in ministry now have an opportunity to use their skills to honor God. Part of church planting involves praying that the Holy Spirit will move people forward in their level of commitment. When this occurs it is beautiful to observe. We are looking forward to a great VBS and could easily run 75-100 children. We are praying that children will come to Christ, receive the gift of eternal life, and that it would be a testimony to their parents as well. This past month the Spanish church celebrated their first Anniversary in their building. There were many guests that attended. The coordinator for Hispanic ministries with our mission preached and also spoke with the men from the church. Their future may be with Baptist Church Planters as the pastor/missionary is considering partnering with BCP. The children are growing up fast! They all had a great time at BCP Family Camp and are now looking forward to inviting their friends and neighbors to VBS next week. This past month, Rylee lost his 2 front teeth on the bottom row. He is excited to be getting "big" teeth now. He also has been excelling in his swimming lessons. He has been learning the different arm strokes and kicks that are used. He really loves the water. He has also been doing 500 piece puzzles! Gloria was also in swimming lessons and has learned how to do the safety float on her back. She really enjoyed her time at the BCP Family Camp kids program. Even though she was the youngest child in the program, she got right up and sang and participated along with the bigger kids. Claire is developing her language skills at a rapid pace. She can repeat almost anything anyone says to her clearly. Everytime we go to an ethnic restaurant we try to learn how they say "thank you" in their language. The kids can now say "Thank you" in Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Spanish, Korean, French, and English. It is always neat to see the servers faces light up when the children say Thank you in their language. Prayer requestsVacation Bible School evangelism opportunitiesSpiritual maturity of church bodyLeadership developmentEvangelism opportunitiesFuture 2 year plan for Oasis BaptistFuture ministry plansPraisesOther musicians to serveFaithfulness in attendancePeople becoming membersKids attended Camp for the first timeThank YOU for all your prayers, support, and encouragement. Your missionaries to Phoenix, AZ,Wayne, Shanna, Rylee, Gloria, and Claire Dale
